How TabFlick handles browser data

To show and manage your recent tabs, TabFlick handles tab titles, URLs, favicons, browser windows and tab state, thumbnail previews, and supported live-tab signals such as media playback, meeting microphone or camera state, and unread counts.

The browser extensions use their permissions to provide TabFlick’s features, including listing tabs, creating previews, detecting supported tab activity, and performing actions you request. This information stays on your device.

Chrome asks for access to all websites because capturing a preview of the tab you are looking at requires that permission. TabFlick does not read page content under it. A small script runs only on a fixed list of media and messaging sites (YouTube, Spotify, Google Meet, Zoom, Slack, Teams and a few others) to read playback state, meeting microphone or camera state, and the unread count shown in the page title.

The extensions communicate only with the TabFlick Mac app on the same computer through a local WebSocket connection at 127.0.0.1, using ports 43117–43121. The app’s server listens only on the loopback interface, so it is not accessible from the local network or the internet. For Chrome, the app verifies that the connection carries TabFlick’s Chrome Web Store extension origin. Every client must also complete a matching handshake before the app accepts the connection. TabFlick operates no server that receives your browser data, and never sells or shares it.

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

TabFlick does not access or operate in private or incognito browser windows or tabs.

Website analytics

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to collect aggregate traffic and performance statistics. It uses no cookies, local storage, or individual visitor profiles. These measurements are used only to understand whether the site is useful and functioning properly.

Information you provide when contacting TabFlick is used only to answer your message and provide support, and is kept only as long as reasonably necessary.

Your data

Because browsing information handled by TabFlick stays on your device, it cannot be accessed or deleted remotely. You can remove it yourself by clearing the extension’s data or uninstalling the app and extensions.
